Allstate and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) have announced 128 student-athlete nominees for the first Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Fall). The initiative aims to recognize male and female student-athletes from all divisions and sports who show a strong commitment to community service, academic achievement, and athletic performance.
“These student-athletes represent the kind of leadership that strengthens communities across the country and prove that purpose and impact go hand in hand with athletic excellence,” said Elizabeth Brady, Allstate’s chief marketing, customer and communications officer.
The nominees come from seven collegiate sports, including soccer, volleyball, cross country, field hockey, and water polo. Their primary community service efforts vary widely. A selection committee made up of athletics directors, former athletes, and industry leaders will select a final team of 20 members—10 female and 10 male student-athletes—to be announced on August 26. One nominee will also be named as team captain. The full list of nominees is available online.
The program was first announced in December. The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team recognizes 60 student-athletes each year across fall, winter, and spring seasons. In its inaugural year, it has already received more than 500 nominations. Past honorees include Penn State golfer Jami Morris, who created Hit Fore Hope to raise funds for cancer research, and Auburn gymnast Sophia Groth, who worked with Baby Steps to support student parents through nonprofit advocacy; both were recognized as team captains for their leadership.
Established in 2024, the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team builds on the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team—which has honored college football players since 1992—by expanding recognition to all collegiate sports and divisions for achievements in community service as well as academics and athletics.
NACDA is now in its 61st year as an association serving over 24,000 college athletics administrators at more than 2,300 institutions across North America. It manages multiple professional associations and foundations while hosting major annual events such as the NACDA & Affiliates Convention—the largest gathering of collegiate athletics administrators in the United States.
