OhioHealth is making a significant investment of $1.8 million to upgrade its medical imaging technology at two of its facilities. The upgrades involve the installation of new MRI scanners at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and OhioHealth Ontario Health Center, aimed at enhancing image quality, reducing scan times, and improving patient comfort.
Chris Clark, director of radiation and cancer services at OhioHealth Mansfield and Shelby Hospitals, highlighted the impact of these advancements. "Our recent upgrades to our MRI systems are transforming our patients' scanning experience," he said. "These upgrades enable much faster, high-quality scans to quickly get our patients back to their busy lives."
In May, Mansfield Hospital completed the installation of the MAGNETOM Sola from Siemens. This system represents an investment exceeding $1 million and promises improved image quality, quicker care delivery, and reduced energy use.
The Ontario Health Center will begin using its new OASIS Velocity Open MRI System from Fujifilm on June 24. This open-design scanner offers patients an unobstructed view during their scans while providing high-resolution images that assist radiologists in distinguishing between concerning findings and normal results more accurately. According to the center's manager of imaging services, this new system will significantly reduce scan times for patients.
