OhioHealth is advancing its expansion plans with significant investments aimed at improving healthcare delivery across central Ohio. The healthcare system has earmarked over $1.5 billion for facility upgrades throughout the state to better serve the communities in these regions.
A major milestone was reached on March 3 with the inauguration of the Grant Family Medicine building at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. This $400 million project features a 33,000-square-foot facility with 50 patient rooms and a clinic dedicated to the "transition of care." The facility also offers clinical learning for 36 family medicine resident physicians.
The comprehensive renovation of the Grant Medical Center, spanning 310,000 square feet, is projected for completion by 2028. Planned additions include a medical office building, parking, and a trauma center with an advanced emergency department and trauma bays.
The OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital expansion has been accelerated to open in 2028, ahead of its previous schedule. This $250-million, 200,000-square-foot project involves building a new six-floor structure.
The OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital Women's Center is on schedule to start operations in 2027. With a budget of $600 million, this 555,000-square-foot facility will cater to women’s health needs, providing services like labor and delivery, OB/GYN, and postpartum care.
Further, OhioHealth is preparing for the construction of a $226-million Comprehensive Cancer Center. This 199,000-square-foot facility is planned for 2026 and will transfer cancer care from the Bing Cancer Center to the Blom Administrative Campus.
In Canal Winchester, OhioHealth will open a $31-million health center in summer 2025. This addition, completed at 40,000 square feet, will host outpatient offices and a 12-bed emergency unit to enhance healthcare access for the local and surrounding rural communities.
