OhioHealth Doctors Hospital will host a community health fair on May 9, 2025, at Founders Hall located in the medical office building of Doctors Hospital. The event is free and open to the public, running from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The objective of the fair is to gather numerous resources in one location for patients and the community. Amanda Maynard, DO, the driving force behind the event, stated, "I had the idea for the preventative health screening fair when I started at Doctors Hospital three years ago." Dr. Maynard saw a need for accessible health screenings in the community.

The fair is a collaborative initiative involving Doctors Hospital's faculty, residents, staff, medical students from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM), and medical professionals from the OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Community Care Clinic.

The Community Care Clinic will operate during the fair, accommodating walk-in patients. Services include acute and chronic disease management, labs, radiology, care navigation, and same-day specialist consultations as needed. Teams from OhioHealth, including substance use navigators, dietitians, and care management staff, will also provide support.

Dr. Joy Walton commented, “We’re also partnering with incredible community organizations such as BrightView Addiction, ANDHealth, Mid-Ohio Food Collective, and Aspen Dental, to name a few.” The fair will offer various cancer screenings and checks for vision, blood pressure, and diabetes, and support for insurance and financial assistance navigation.

Dr. Walton emphasized the importance of connecting attendees without primary care providers to a primary care home. "We believe this is crucial for our community because of the overwhelming vulnerability of our patients—both medically and socially," she remarked, adding that the initiative aims to improve access to preventative care and uplift the community.
