Kenton County Parks & Recreation, in partnership with the Kenton County Public Library, has announced the return of its "Letters to Santa, Letters from Santa" program. The initiative will begin on Monday, November 18.
The program allows children to send a letter to Santa Claus and receive a personalized response by Christmas. Starting November 18, special Santa Express Mailboxes will be set up at various locations including all three Kenton County Public Library branches, the Kenton County Government Center in Covington, the Historic Kenton County Courthouse in Independence, and Kenton County Animal Services. These mailboxes will remain available until December 16. No postage is required for letters dropped off at these sites.
Children can also submit their letters online via bit.ly/kcletterstosanta. To ensure delivery, it is important that each letter includes a full and legible address. Each child at the same address will receive an individual note from Santa.
While participation in the program is free, Kenton County Parks & Recreation encourages donations of non-perishable food or personal care items for Be Concerned when dropping off letters. Last year’s initiative collected nearly 1,900 letters and 435 items for donation.
Acknowledgment was given to Archways McDonald’s, Independence Cleaners, and Jude’s Custom Exhaust, Auto Repair & Towing in Independence for their ongoing support.
