Kenton County Parks & Recreation has announced its 2025 Summer Events lineup, offering a variety of outdoor activities, educational experiences, and interactive events for families. The summer programming will begin on Saturday, May 17, coinciding with Kids to Parks Day, a national initiative to promote outdoor play. A highlight of the season is the award-winning Wild Wednesdays at Middleton-Mills Park, featuring outdoor adventures and animal encounters.
Returning events include Art in the Park and (Almost) Every Other Thursday Science, both hosted at Pioneer Park in Covington. Additionally, Kenton County Parks & Recreation, in collaboration with the Kenton County Public Library, is introducing a new event, Tales & Trails. This event will be held monthly across four Kenton County parks and will provide participants with an opportunity to engage with storytelling and nature through activities such as an interactive Story Walk and hands-on nature activities. The inaugural Tales & Trails is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, at Middleton-Mills Park, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The summer season will conclude with a significant End of Summer Fest at Pioneer Park, also in partnership with the Kenton County Public Library. This event will feature food trucks, music by Velvet Soul, and a Children’s Entrepreneur Market offering 50 booths.
All events are free for attendees. Instead of charging a registration fee, Kenton County Parks & Recreation encourages donations of non-perishable goods and personal care items for Be Concerned.
Event details, including times and partner presentations, can be accessed through the online registration system, the Kenton County Parks & Recreation Facebook page, and the official website.
