The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) will honor U.S. Representatives Bill Foster and Don Beyer, along with former FTC Commissioner Christine Wilson, as 2025 Digital Patriots at the annual Digital Patriots Dinner. The event is scheduled for April 8 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

The Digital Patriots Award, presented during CTA's Tech Week, is the highest accolade given to policymakers by the technology industry. It acknowledges those who advocate for technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Past recipients include notable figures such as Bill Gates and Michael Dell.

The invitation-only dinner will bring together industry leaders and policymakers to discuss current tech innovations and policy issues like artificial intelligence and digital health. "We are thrilled to recognize Rep. Beyer, Rep. Foster, and Commissioner Wilson for their dedication to advancing the tech innovation that improves millions of lives," said Gary Shapiro, CEO and Vice Chair of CTA.

Additionally, CTA will release the 2025 U.S. Innovation Scorecard during the dinner. This biennial report evaluates all 50 states on their support for innovation-friendly policies across various categories including telehealth and data privacy. "With our 2025 Innovation Scorecard, we recognize work across the United States to accelerate technology innovation," said Kinsey Fabrizio, President of CTA.

Congressman Bill Foster has been a representative since 2013 and is noted for his role on the House Financial Services Committee. He is being honored for his contributions to emerging technology policy.

Congressman Don Beyer represents Virginia’s 8th District and serves on Congress' Joint Economic Committee among others. His leadership in artificial intelligence policy earns him recognition as a Digital Patriot.

Christine Wilson served as an FTC Commissioner from 2018-2023 under President Trump’s administration where she influenced policies related to antitrust and consumer protection.
