Hamilton County, Ohio has implemented a new online system for permit applications. The Hamilton County Planning + Development Department and the Hamilton County Conservation District announced the launch of CAGIS ezTrak, a paperless permitting portal. As of February 18, 2025, permits related to building, earthworks, floodplain, stormwater, subdivision, and zoning are now processed digitally.

James Noyes, Director of Planning + Development, highlighted the benefits: “ezTrak will dramatically improve the efficiency and timing for contractors, citizens, and communities to complete all types of required permit requests and reviews.” He noted that the digital system eliminates the need for in-person visits to their downtown office.

Denise Driehaus, President of the Board of County Commissioners stated: “This enhancement represents a major milestone in modernizing how contractors, developers, residents and businesses interact with the County.”

The ezTrak system includes features such as secure online payments and project status tracking. Commissioner Summerow Dumas remarked on its convenience: “Time is money and people are busy. This new system is well-organized and easy to use.”

For assistance during this transition period or with any questions about using ezTrak, residents can contact either department by phone during business hours. Commissioner Alicia Reece emphasized customer support: “Giving people options is important...our Planning + Development team will continue to provide outstanding customer service.”

The Hamilton County Planning + Development Department focuses on safe development practices while partnering on visionary plans. Meanwhile, the Conservation District aids in soil and water conservation efforts across Hamilton County.
