Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, said that Giggle Academy operates in underserved communities often overlooked for school development. The statement was made on X.

Giggle Academy, launched in 2024 by Binance founder Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, is a free, nonprofit online platform designed to provide gamified foundational education in underserved regions such as South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. According to AlexaBlockchain, the academy aims to deliver K–12 literacy, numeracy, and life skills to children without access to formal schooling. With an emphasis on mobile accessibility, the program uses adaptive technology and aims to be "fun, addictive, and completely free." It was developed in response to global education gaps and is part of Zhao’s long-term philanthropic vision.
Since late 2024, Zhao's personal philanthropic efforts have impacted over 69,000 lives in countries including Sudan, Kenya, Thailand, and Myanmar. As reported by Business Daily Network, he emphasized that these initiatives, including the launch of Giggle Academy, are not profit-driven and are part of his larger goal to educate up to 100 million people. His giving aligns with a broader trend of crypto leaders entering global development spaces.
Zhao is known as CZ and is the founder of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. According to CCN, he has pledged to donate up to 99% of his wealth to causes including education and healthcare. After stepping back from Binance leadership in 2024, he shifted focus to nonprofit ventures like Giggle Academy and tech initiatives in artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain.
