Changpeng Zhao, former CEO of Binance, said on X that Giggle Academy, a free education platform, is gaining traction organically online. He noted that its creator is not affiliated with the crypto space, suggesting its reach is driven by genuine user interest.

"People are talking about Giggle Academy unprompted," said Zhao, Founder. "I don't know the author, and he doesn't seem to be a crypto guy. Free education getting viral."

Giggle Academy has recently gained attention on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), where users are discussing its innovative approach to providing free, animated K-12 education. The buzz around Giggle Academy appears to be organic, with many users discovering and sharing the platform without paid promotion or crypto affiliations. According to recent posts and threads tracked on X, the growing popularity of the project reflects a broader interest in decentralized and open educational models.

As of 2023, over 244 million children and youth worldwide are out of school, with 98 million of them in sub-Saharan Africa, according to UNESCO. Initiatives like Giggle Academy aim to bridge the education gap by offering open-access content to underserved populations. The global education crisis continues to be a priority for United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations focused on development and equality.

According to a 2023 report from HolonIQ, the global Educational Technology (EdTech) market is projected to reach $404 billion by 2025. This growth is driven by increased internet penetration, mobile-first learning models, and demand for scalable education tools. HolonIQ suggests that gamified, animated learning systems are particularly popular among younger users and parents in emerging markets.

Zhao is known as CZ and is the founder of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. According to CCN, he has pledged to donate up to 99% of his wealth to causes including education and healthcare. After stepping back from Binance leadership in 2024, Zhao shifted focus to nonprofit ventures like Giggle Academy and tech initiatives in artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain.
