John Deere has announced the introduction of two new planter upgrade options aimed at enhancing productivity for farmers using their equipment. The MaxEmerge 5e and ExactEmerge meter upgrades offer a way to update planters without replacing entire row units.

Kyle Barry, precision upgrade marketing manager at John Deere, emphasized the company's commitment to helping farmers boost productivity. "We consistently work with farmers and our John Deere dealers to find ways we can update existing equipment to help farmers be more productive," he said. "The introduction of these new meter upgrade kits are an example of how we are helping farmers be more productive and efficient, saving time and money."

The ExactEmerge Meter Upgrade Kit is designed for John Deere planters from 2018 onward, allowing users of MaxEmerge 5e to switch to ExactEmerge technology without purchasing new row units. This upgrade aims to double planting speed while maintaining accuracy in seed placement. It utilizes the BrushBelt seed delivery system for precise seed placement.

For those with a 2015 or newer MaxEmerge 5 planter, the MaxEmerge 5e Meter Upgrade Kit replaces mechanical drives with electric drives. This enhancement improves population accuracy by up to 20% and offers features like variable rate prescriptions and individual row shutoffs.

Barry highlighted the significance of these upgrades: "The new precision upgrades are significant as they allow farmers the ability to enhance their planting technology without the need to invest in an entirely new row unit."

Additionally, John Deere continues offering its Ultimate Planter Upgrade, which includes a full factory row replacement for model year 2005 and newer planters. This option provides various enhancements such as liquid fertilizer systems and pneumatic closing wheels.

"The Ultimate Planter Upgrade is an option John Deere provides for those who are looking for a full planter rebuild," Barry added.

Farmers interested in these upgrades can contact their local John Deere dealer or visit deere.com/upgrade for more information.
