The Kenton County Fiscal Court has appointed Taylor Jackson as the interim director of Kenton County Animal Services. Jackson, who currently serves as a sergeant for Kenton County Animal Control, leads a team of four officers and steps into the role following the departure of Kelsey Maccombs.
With over ten years of experience in animal welfare, Jackson has held positions in Louisville, Columbus, and Cincinnati. Her interest in this field began during an internship at KCAS while she was attending Scott High School in Taylor Mill.
Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann expressed confidence in Jackson's capabilities: "We are confident that Taylor’s leadership and passion for animal welfare will continue to drive KCAS toward fulfilling its mission," adding, "With her experience and dedication, we look forward to a seamless transition as we search for a new director."
In her new role as interim director, Jackson will manage daily operations, community outreach efforts, and the care of animals at the shelter. KCAS remains dedicated to providing compassionate care for animals and promoting humane pet ownership under her guidance.
Kenton County is actively seeking applications for a permanent director. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by February 26. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. More information about the role can be found on Kenton County’s jobs portal.
