Hamilton County Commissioners have announced the launch of the fourth round of the INSPIRE Youth Initiative Grants. This program aims to reduce youth violence and provide safe opportunities for children and teens in Hamilton County, Ohio. Since its inception in May 2023, the initiative has allocated over $700,000 to support more than 23,000 youth through 145 grassroots programs.
The grants offer up to $5,000 in non-cash funding to community-based organizations that serve low- to moderate-income youth. The funds cover supplies, uniforms, equipment, and enrichment activities that enhance the well-being of young people in Hamilton County.
“The INSPIRE grants are small investments with big returns,” said Commissioner Summerow Dumas. “These grants serve as a violence prevention strategy—a way to support organizations on the ground who are making a real difference in the lives of our young people.”
Applications for these grants have previously exceeded available funds, highlighting their popularity and necessity. Commission President Denise Driehaus noted, “These grants are an aggressive and proactive step toward supporting positive youth activities before negative influences take hold.”
Commissioner Alicia Reece added that beyond providing materials like uniforms or instruments, "this program fuels the power of community to uplift our children."
Eligibility for these grants requires operating a valid youth program within Hamilton County limits that serves low- to moderate-income households. Applicants must submit a completed application along with documentation demonstrating how funds will be used.
Applications for this round are now open with up to 50 grants available. More information can be found at www.HamiltonCountyOhio.gov/Inspire or by contacting Alice Bledsoe at [email protected].
