Flying Food Group (FFG) has committed to donating 100% of its taxable income to the Sue Ling Gin Foundation, a move that CEO David Cotton says strengthens workplace culture and empowers employees to support impactful community initiatives. This statement was made during an interview on December 30, 2024.

It's this alignment of purpose and performance that makes Flying Food Group such a remarkable place to work and grow."

According to Southland Marquee, FFG directs all profits to global initiatives through the Sue Ling Gin Foundation, supporting education, healthcare, and community services. In 2023, the foundation awarded $129,000 in scholarships for catering and airline careers. It also donated $20 million to Chicago’s Field Museum for the Sue Ling Gin Center for Education, $10 million to the Chinese American Service League, and $21 million to Chicago CRED to combat gun violence, honoring the legacy of its founder.

Sue Gin, founder of Flying Food Group, transformed a frustrating in-flight meal into a global business that serves clients like Starbucks. She established a charitable trust that receives all company profits, funding scholarships for employees’ families and supporting organizations like the Chinese American Service League and Rush University Medical Center. Her focus on healthcare, education, and supporting employees continues to influence the company’s culture.

Flying Food Group was named North American Airline Caterer of the Year at the 2024 PAX Readership Awards in Hamburg, Germany. Executive Vice President of Sales Nicolas Rondeau expressed gratitude towards PAX readers for recognizing industry excellence. Founded in 1983 by Sue Ling Gin, Flying Food Group serves major airlines including Air France, Lufthansa, and Singapore Airlines.

According to FFG's website, David Cotton is the CEO of Flying Food Group and previously served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for two decades. A graduate of the University of Chicago and Yale University, he has driven the company’s growth by expanding its customer base and locations.

Founded in 1983, Flying Food Group partners with over 70 international airlines to provide in-flight dining. Operating more than 15 kitchen facilities across the United States (U.S.), FFG emphasizes culinary creativity, cultural authenticity, and customization to deliver restaurant-quality meals.
