Covington, Ky. - As temperatures rise, Covington Parks & Recreation is preparing to open its swim facilities for the summer season. The official opening day is set for Saturday, with events scheduled at Randolph Pool and Bill Cappel Splash Pad. Both locations will host treats and games to mark the occasion.
Pool passes are available free of charge to Covington residents, though they must be renewed annually. Residents can obtain a pass by presenting identification such as a driver's license or mail that confirms their address in Covington.
“It’s going to be another exciting season with lots of fun activities,” said Greg Stacy, Covington Parks & Recreation Manager.
The opening day festivities will begin at Randolph Pool from noon to 2 p.m., followed by events at Bill Cappel Splash Pad from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The facilities will remain open daily from June 7 through August 3, between noon and 6 p.m., weather permitting.
This summer, children can also participate in "Cov-Tivities," which include various games and arts and crafts sessions held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. These activities will take place on Mondays at Bill Cappel Splash Pad, Wednesdays at Randolph Pool, and Fridays alternating between the two locations.
