Governor Andy Beshear joined L2 Aviation and local officials in Boone County for the grand opening of L2 Aviation's new manufacturing operation. This $12.2 million investment marks the company's first location in Kentucky, expected to create 250 jobs.
In his statement, Governor Beshear highlighted the growth of the state's aviation and aerospace industry. He expressed appreciation for L2 Aviation's decision to invest in Kentucky and celebrate the company's expansion and the new job opportunities it brings to Northern Kentucky. "I am happy to celebrate this exciting next step for the company and the community," Beshear said, thanking L2's leadership for their commitment.
The project was first announced in December 2024. L2 Aviation set up operations in a remodeled office and production facility, along with a hangar, at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The facilities aim to enhance the company’s production, engineering, and customer support capabilities.
Tony Bailey, L2 Aviation's chief operating officer, expressed gratitude for Kentucky's support in creating a business-friendly environment. "L2 Aviation is excited to grow our presence in the region and continue delivering innovative aviation solutions," Bailey remarked.
L2 Aviation was founded in 1997 by Mark Lebovitz and has evolved from operating out of a garage in Austin, Texas, to a company providing comprehensive aviation solutions globally.
Local leaders lauded the company's new presence in Northern Kentucky. Boone County Judge/Executive Gary Moore noted the development was significant for the region's aviation industry. CVG CEO Larry Krauter emphasized the strategic advantage brought by L2 Aviation's capabilities to the CVG airport ecosystem.
Lee Crume from BE NKY Growth Partnership reaffirmed the emphasis on the aviation industry, aiming to promote the region's attractiveness.
