The United States Senate has confirmed Michael Kratsios as the new Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). Kratsios, who previously served during the Trump administration, emphasized the importance of maintaining the U.S.'s leading role in global science and innovation in his confirmation hearings.

The Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA), an organization supporting tech industry competition and innovation since 1972, expressed support for Kratsios's appointment.

CCIA President & CEO, Matt Schruers, stated, "Kratsios recognizes the urgency of ensuring continued U.S. competitiveness, technological innovation, and maintaining a highly skilled science and technology workforce that powers the private and public sector. We look forward to working with OSTP under his leadership.”

Kratsios's leadership in the OSTP is seen as a move to bolster the country's position in science and technology fields, critical to both public and private sector advancement.
