ADM Animal Nutrition, a division of ADM, has announced a recall of certain pelleted cattle feed products. The recall is due to the discovery that some products may contain elevated levels of copper or insufficient levels of zinc, which could pose risks to cattle health.

Chronic copper toxicity can lead to symptoms such as gastroenteritis, anorexia, abdominal pain, depression, lethargy, diarrhea, and dehydration. Zinc deficiency may result in reduced feed intake and efficiency as well as hindered growth. To date, no illnesses or deficiency impacts have been reported.

The recall involves 33 lot numbers distributed between January 16 and February 27, 2025. These products were available in Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa, Georgia, and Ohio. Most affected products have high copper levels except for GROFAST32 which has lower than represented zinc levels.

ADM identified the issue during routine production checks and initiated an investigation before confirming the need for a recall. Customers and distributors are being notified about the recall and affected products are being removed from shelves.

Customers who purchased these feeds should stop using them immediately and return them for a full replacement or refund. For further inquiries, customers can contact ADM at 800-217-2007 during business hours.
