Amazon has announced a new position in Chicago, Illinois, for a finance manager to support the rapidly growing Amazon Web Services (AWS) compute business. The role includes managing Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a key product enabling scalable cloud computing and driving AWS's strategic growth.

According to Amazon Jobs, the position involves collaborating with finance management and business leaders across AWS to perform financial analysis and controllership. Responsibilities include owning profit and loss statements, conducting usage and revenue analyses for both new and existing services, and delivering ad-hoc business projects.

Candidates must have at least five years of experience in finance or a related analytical field, with expertise in financial systems such as SQL, Microsoft Access, Oracle, among others. A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related field is required. There is a preference for candidates holding an MBA or CPA. The position offers salaries ranging from $85,900 annually in lower-cost markets to $179,500 annually in higher-cost markets.

Amazon provides an array of services beyond AWS. These include online and in-person shopping; delivery of fresh produce; media distribution; operation of devices like Alexa and Fire TV; logistics; customer service; as well as entertainment through platforms like Amazon Originals, Prime Video, and Audible.
