AAA and NAPA Autotech have launched a new automotive apprenticeship program to develop future professionals in the auto repair industry. This initiative, available to AAA's Approved Auto Repair facilities, aims to offer practical experience through guidance from industry experts.
Research from the Department of Labor shows a 22% increase in active apprentices over the past decade and a 9% rise in new apprentices in 2021. The program seeks to harness this trend to cultivate skills essential for advancing the automotive sector.
The Automotive Apprentice Program lasts between 18 and 24 months, combining online and classroom training. Participants have access to over 400 NAPA Autotech eLearning resources, enabling them to learn at their own pace. Apprentices can earn ASE certifications like G1, A4, A5, and A/C throughout the program. They also have the option to purchase a custom tool set for their technician journey.
AAA's Approved Auto Repair (AAR) shops provide services ranging from maintenance to complex repairs. With over 7,000 locations across North America, these shops employ certified technicians trained through ASE or factory/apprentice programs. Interested repair shops can enroll by visiting https://networkofsavings.aaa.biz/aar-apprentice-program or contacting Jim Sennett.
NAPA AUTO PARTS has nearly 6,000 stores across the U.S., supported by distribution centers offering over 560,000 parts and supplies. Their network includes more than 17,000 NAPA AutoCare Centers nationwide.
Founded in 1902 by automotive enthusiasts advocating for better roads and safe mobility, AAA is now one of North America's largest membership organizations with over 65 million members.
