Northern Kentucky University's swimming team concluded its fall season with a strong performance at the House of Champions Invitational in Indianapolis. The event, hosted by IU-Indy, saw NKU athletes achieving both school and personal records over the weekend.

The men's team finished 11th with a total of 115 points. Notable performances included Frank Runge, who earned 13 points for his 4:35.04 finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle finals. Patrick Gibbons set a new school record with a time of 20.91 in the prelims of the 50 Yard Freestyle and contributed significantly to the team's score in various events.

Gibbons also excelled individually in the 200 Yard Freestyle Final, finishing with a time of 1:41.07 after recording a prelim time of 1:40.86, adding another 12 points to NKU's tally. In addition, he secured five more points in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 45.86.

Other highlights included Chloe Loftis' performance in the women's events, where she completed the 100 Yard Backstroke in 1:11.87 and improved her seed time by two seconds in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a finish at 1:01.56.

Freshman Ethan Johnson narrowly missed qualifying for the finals in the 200 Yard Butterfly with his prelim time of 1:55.70. Tyler Cukovecki added to NKU's score by earning 12 points for his effort in the 100 Yard IM with a time of 53.14.

Jack Miranda demonstrated endurance during his swim in the grueling distance event, posting a respectable time of 16:47.19 for a placement at number twenty-eight.

NKU’s relay teams also performed well, picking up valuable points across several events including both medley relays and concluding their meet participation with another point-scoring effort in the final relay race.

After winter break, Northern Kentucky University is scheduled to resume competition against Bellarmine this coming January.
