Northern Kentucky Women's Basketball team commenced their 2024-25 season with a challenging match against Middle Tennessee on Monday night. The game, held at Truist Arena in Highland Heights, Kentucky, ended with the Blue Raiders securing a decisive 79-58 victory over the Norse.

Middle Tennessee led throughout the game, capitalizing on their speed and size to dominate both fast breaks and play within the paint. This performance resulted in an initial win for Middle Tennessee, leaving Northern Kentucky with a 0-1 record to start the season.

Halle Idowu emerged as a standout player for Northern Kentucky, scoring 18 points with impressive accuracy by shooting 7-9 from the field. Gabby Razzano also contributed significantly off the bench, making three out of five attempts from beyond the arc and ending with 11 points and six rebounds. Macey Blevins added nine points to her team's effort while excelling at free throws by going 5-6.

Freshman guard Anna Hamilton made her first career start, adding six points along with four rebounds and three assists. The game showcased Idowu's potential as she achieved a notable performance in her debut wearing Northern Kentucky colors.

Despite their loss, Northern Kentucky showed promising signs by attempting 29 three-pointers and achieving 14 assists on their 20 field goals. These statistics indicate their strategic focus on long-range shooting and ball movement.
