Morgan Stanley Investment Management has successfully closed its North Haven Tactical Value II Fund LP and affiliated funds, raising approximately $2 billion in committed capital. This marks a nearly 50 percent increase over the predecessor fund, NHTV I. The new fund aims to offer credit, hybrid, and non-control equity investments in high-quality companies across various sectors and geographies. It attracts both institutional investors and qualified individual investors.
Thomas Cahill and Pedro Teixeira, Co-Heads of Morgan Stanley Tactical Value, expressed satisfaction with the closing of the second fund: “We are pleased to close our second fund to provide investors exposure to a highly diversified portfolio of uncorrelated investments unconstrained by the narrower mandates of traditional private equity or private credit strategies." They highlighted the team's structuring capabilities and domain expertise, enhanced by Morgan Stanley's platform, as key factors positioning the fund for success.
The investment team benefits from Morgan Stanley's extensive client relationships and management access to originate bespoke transactions. These transactions are sourced from several groups within Morgan Stanley, including Global Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Wealth Management, and Investment Management. Additionally, they utilize an external sourcing network developed over seven years to build a selective portfolio with low correlation.
