Amazon announced that during the Global Month of Volunteering, its team members from more than 50 countries engaged in over 4,000 events, both virtual and in-person, and provided support to over 400 organizations. The company collaborates with thousands of global partners annually to address critical social issues and strengthen communities.
According to a press release by Amazon, in Puget Sound, volunteers partnered with Clean the World to assemble hygiene kits for global distribution. AWS employees in the National Capital region built robotics kits and solar science stations for STEM education. In Brazil, volunteers supported disaster relief by packing meals and sorting hygiene items for flood-affected families.
Volunteers in Canada planted 200 trees with the City of Edmonton. In France, pet food was distributed to a local animal shelter. Germany saw over 300 volunteers fill 3,500 backpacks with school supplies. In India, 400 volunteers assembled 4,000 sandwiches for under-resourced areas. Italy saw nearly 100 volunteers paint and renovate a school. In Japan, volunteers participated in a park cleanup.

It's humbling to witness firsthand the difference we can make in people's lives through simple acts of kindness," said Jerald Koh, data center security specialist at Amazon Web Services (AWS).
