Sugar Grove Ace Hardware will hold its ninth-annual pumpkin painting event on Saturday, Oct. 29.

“Our kids’ pumpkin painting event has been enjoyed by hundreds of kids over the last nine years," store owner Mark Driscoll said. "It’s a win-win as our local kids get to have some safe, clean fun creating their pumpkins, and with the donation going to CMN (Children's Miracle Network), and the kids at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago benefit also.”

The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to children 12 and under.                              

For a $3 donation to Children's Miracle Network/Lurie Children’s Hospital, Sugar Grove Ace Hardware will supply the pumpkins, paint, brushes, decorations and aprons. One pumpkin will be provided to each child 12 and under. Children will need to have an adult guardian with them at all times.

“We are happy and excited to again host this event," Driscoll said.                     

Sugar Grove Ace Hardware is located 160 East Galena Boulevard in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.                    

Sugar Grove Ace Hardware and Sugar Grove Pet Supply opened in 2014.
