(Sponsored Content) -- For those looking for a new gig or extra income, Uber is the perfect fit to make more money while you run your own business or just save up for future endeavors.
Polinario Paz, a part-time Uber Eats driver from Tampa, Florida, said it worked for him when he was looking to make extra money during the pandemic.
"At the time, it was due to the pandemic and I lost my extra income," Paz said. "So I thought it was a good way to just make extra income. It was always to have that extra money just recently, just to have that extra money to do things that I like to do. I'm a musician, so I will find instruments. I'm also more used to, like handyman stuff and going in to fix people's houses and things like that, so it helps when it comes to buying extra stuff."
A recent Hamilton Project report said that "Gig work was especially valued by workers seeking income during an extended job search. Work advantageous."
The report comes on the heels of a Freelance Union and Upwork survey in 2019 that estimated that by 2027 half the U.S. workforce would be made up of gig workers.
According to a Pew Research Center survey, people using ride-sharing apps like Uber more than doubled from 2015 to 2018. Side work in the U.S. accounted for over $1.4 trillion in income for workers by the end of 2018, according to PYMNTS.
