Hughes Federal Credit Union and Banner – University Medicine invite Pima County residents to kick off Hughes Federal Credit Union’s holiday toy drive by safely shredding and recycling sensitive, personal documents and bringing unwrapped gifts or art supplies to the Shred Event, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019.
Hughes Federal Credit Union and Banner – University Medicine in Tucson invite Pima County residents to kick off the holiday toy drive at the Shred Event, Saturday, Nov. 2. During the event, the community is invited to bring unwrapped gifts or art supplies and will be provided with the opportunity to safely shred and recycle sensitive, personal documents.
The event, which marks the start of this year’s holiday art supply and toy drive, benefits patients at Banner Diamond Children’s Medical Center, and is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon (or until the truck is full) at La Cima Middle School, 5600 N. Canada Drive, Tucson. Participants may bring up to 15 pounds or 3 boxes of documents for each donated item.
“We are thrilled to co-host this event with Banner Diamond Children’s Medical Center and give our community the opportunity to support local hospitalized children in need,” said Hughes’ President and General Manager Robert J. Swick. “We are equally excited to offer an opportunity to protect personal information that could easily lead to identity theft.”
Hughes recommends shredding materials such as financial statements, credit applications, insurance records, physician statements, checks, employment applications and credit card receipts. No cardboard or other media type is accepted.
A holiday gift and art supply wish list will be available at any Hughes Federal Credit Union location or online at Hughesfcu.org/Shred (https://www.hughesfcu.org/go/shred-event) and includes requests for children of all ages. Donations of unwrapped toys and art supplies also will be accepted at any Hughes Federal Credit Union branch in Tucson through December 13, 2019.
