Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 12.
The Justice Intermediate School Tech Giants took home one of the top awards at a VEX IQ robotics competition over the weekend in Dunkirk.
The Giants were among 24 teams competing at West Jay Middle School on Saturday, Dec. 8. They earned the Design Award, given to the team with the most effective and efficient robot design process.
The VEX IQ Challenge, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, provides students with open-ended robotics and research project challenges that enhance their science, technology, engineering, and math skills through hands-on, student-centered learning. The Marion robotics clubs foster teamwork, critical thinking, project management, and communication skills. Opportunities like this help prepare students to become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers!
This year’s challenge is called Next Level, and teams use their robots together with one other or alone to score points by completing specific maneuvers, as outlined by the challenge rules.
Justice fields two teams at robotics competitions. Students participating are:
Damian DeLuna
Easton Emery
Cambria Hamner
Caleb Hawkins
Caleb Huff
Kenzie Larson
Areanna Miller
Emma Miller
Ravleen Rai
Noah Rhoadarmer
Samantha Torres
Cedric Wood
We are proud of these students, and of Mary Miller, Justice science teacher, faculty sponsor of the Justice Tech Giants!
