Buckeye is the fifth-fastest growing city in the U.S. as per the U.S. Census Bureau, which listed it as the only Arizona city in its rankings.
Moving up from seventh place last year, Buckeye is among the top 15 fastest-growing cities in the U.S. with a population of over 50,000 in the latest list from the U.S. Census Bureau.
“Buckeye provides an excellent quality of life for our residents," Mayor Jackie Meck said. "We offer the greatest value in housing along with a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities which creates the perfect environment to continue attracting new retail development and large employers to our great city.”
According to the survey, Buckeye experienced a 5.9 percent increase in population, reaching 68,453 residents, as of July 1, 2017. City officials today estimate Buckeye’s population is around 74,000. In addition, around 2,200 single family residential permits were issued in the city, and city officials estimate 300 more permits will be issued this year.
