Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey recently ordered the state's flags flown at half staff in observation of the passing of former U.S. First Lady Barbara Bush.
“Barbara Bush will always be remembered as a true American treasure,” Ducey said. “She was a tireless advocate for family literacy -- often referred to as the First Lady of Literacy. Her legacy of service and passion for improving the lives of others will leave a lasting impact not only in the United States but across the world."
Barbara Bush, the wife of former President George H.W. Bush and the mother of former President George W. Bush, passed away on April 17.
"Our prayers go out to President George H.W. Bush and the entire Bush family," Ducey said.
