Pinal County Superior Court Judge Karl Eppich was recently appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division Two following the retirement of Judge Joseph Howard.

“Judge Eppich has proven himself in multiple areas of legal practice,” Gov. Doug Ducey said in an announcement. “He is committed to serving the people of Arizona. As a judge, he has worked tirelessly to promote justice, and has served his post with integrity and a strong work ethic. I am pleased to appoint Judge Karl Eppich to Division II of the Arizona Court of Appeals.”

Eppich's 25 years of experience in law led him from private practice with Lewis and Roca to his last position as the presiding family court judge on the Pinal County Superior Court, according to the announcement. His experience includes commercial and product liability litigation, education law, employment law and prosecution of misdemeanor and felony cases.

Eppich is a decorated Army veteran. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in social ecology from the University of California at Irvine in 1988 and received his law degree from Stanford Law School in 1992. While at Stanford, he co-founded the Stanford Criminal Law Association. He was also a member of the Federalist Society, according to the announcement.
