Amazon has announced that more than 425,000 U.S. employees have participated in its Upskilling 2025 workforce development programs since 2019. This information was shared in a blog post on the company's website.

According to Amazon's 2024 Upskilling Report, these programs aim to address the growing need for workforce development in a rapidly changing labor market. The report indicates that the programs were created to prepare employees for in-demand roles in sectors such as healthcare, transportation, and technology, with an employee-first approach.

The World Economic Forum projects that by 2027, 44% of workers' skills will be disrupted due to changes in the labor market. Its 2023 Future of Jobs video emphasizes the increasing importance of reskilling and lifelong learning. Employers are expected to play a leading role in equipping workers for evolving job requirements.

A 2023 Gallup survey conducted in collaboration with Amazon found that U.S. adults who gained digital skills through employer programs were significantly more likely to report higher pay, job satisfaction, and job security. Among digital workers, 72% reported a positive impact on their overall career outlook. The study suggests digital upskilling contributes to employee retention and advancement.

Amazon is one of the largest private employers in the United States, employing over one million people nationwide. The company invests heavily in workforce development, employee benefits, and career advancement programs as part of its broader strategy to promote itself as a good employer.
