The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the opening of Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOC) in Douglas County, Oregon, to assist small businesses, private nonprofit organizations, and residents affected by severe weather events from March 13-20. Starting July 14, SBA representatives will be available at centers in Myrtle Creek and Drain to help with disaster loan applications.
Chris Stallings, associate administrator of the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience at the SBA, emphasized the importance of these centers: “When disasters strike, SBA’s Disaster Loan Outreach Centers perform an important role by assisting small businesses and their communities.” He added that specialists are on hand to help applicants learn about programs supporting recovery.
Businesses and nonprofits can apply for physical disaster loans up to $2 million for repairing or replacing damaged assets. Homeowners may borrow up to $500,000 for primary residence repairs. Personal property loans up to $100,000 are also available for homeowners and renters. Eligible applicants might receive a loan increase of up to 20% for mitigation improvements like insulation and storm windows.
The Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program offers support for financial losses related to these disasters. EIDLs provide working capital even if no physical damage occurred. Interest rates are as low as 4% for businesses and 2.75% for homeowners with terms up to 30 years.
Applications can be submitted online at sba.gov/disaster or by contacting the SBA Customer Service Center. The deadline for physical property damage applications is August 25, 2025; economic injury applications must be submitted by March 24, 2026.
