Ziad (Z) Ojakli Executive Vice President Government Operations | Boeing

Boeing has announced a donation of $200,000 from the Boeing Charitable Trust to aid recovery and relief efforts following severe flooding in central Texas. The funds will be distributed equally between two organizations: $100,000 will go to the Salvation Army San Antonio Area Command to support emergency shelters and provide essential services, while another $100,000 will be allocated to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund for rescue and recovery efforts.

Jeff Shockey, executive vice president of Boeing Government Operations, Global Public Policy, and Corporate Strategy, expressed condolences to those affected by the floods. "We extend our heartfelt condolences to those who are grappling with unimaginable loss and uncertainty in the aftermath of the flooding," he said. He also acknowledged the impact on Boeing employees in the region and appreciated local partners' efforts toward recovery.

Maj. Jeremiah Romack of Salvation Army San Antonio Area Command thanked Boeing for its support. "We are thankful for Boeing’s support for our communities impacted by the recent floods," he stated. He emphasized that addressing both immediate and long-term community needs is only possible through partnerships like this one.

Boeing's commitment extends beyond corporate donations as employees contribute through local community fund chapters and participate in volunteer programs. The company plans to match qualifying employee contributions made towards flood relief efforts.

This initiative aligns with Boeing's ongoing dedication to supporting communities where it operates. In Texas alone, where over 7,300 people are employed by Boeing, the company provided $7.9 million in charitable contributions last year. Globally, it donated $3.8 million towards recovery and relief efforts in 2024.
