ACT | The App Association has expressed approval for the House Judiciary's focus on the Anti-Competitive Digital Markets Act. The association commends Chairman Fitzgerald for recognizing and addressing non-tariff trade barriers, such as the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Morgan Reed, president of ACT | The App Association, stated, "Addressing the negative effects of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) on small businesses has been a priority for the App Association." He added appreciation for Chairman Fitzgerald and Congress' efforts to support actions by the U.S. Trade Representative against the DMA and potential future digital regulations through trade negotiations.

Reed emphasized that "The DMA is hamstringing small tech companies in the U.S. and EU," noting that while it targets large technology firms, it inadvertently causes significant challenges for App Association members and other small tech companies dependent on global online marketplaces.
