Boeing has announced a donation of $150,000 to aid tornado recovery efforts in St. Louis and southern Kentucky. The funds will be distributed through the Boeing Charitable Trust to two organizations: $100,000 to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis for providing essential supplies and support, and $50,000 to the American Red Cross for assisting those affected by storms and floods in Kentucky.
Lindsay Leonard, vice president of Boeing Global Engagement, stated, “Boeing is committed to supporting the resilient communities devastated by these tornadoes. We are working with our partners on the ground that are doing the necessary work of providing immediate aid and starting the process of recovery.”
Nadine McCrindle, CEO of the American Red Cross Kentucky Region, expressed gratitude for Boeing's contribution: “We are so thankful for the generosity of donors like Boeing, who help make the mission of the Red Cross possible.” She emphasized that their teams have been active in areas such as Laurel, Pulaski, and Russell counties since before the tornadoes hit.
Boeing's involvement extends beyond financial contributions. The company is a partner in the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program and encourages its employees to engage in community support through volunteer work and matching gift programs.
The company's commitment aligns with its broader philanthropic efforts; Boeing employs over 17,000 people in Missouri and contributed more than $12 million in charitable investments across the state last year. Globally, Boeing donated $3.8 million towards recovery and relief efforts in 2024.
