Gov. Andy Beshear recently participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Zoetis' new diagnostics reference laboratory at Louisville's UPS Healthcare Labport. This event marks a significant development in Kentucky's healthcare services industry, which has experienced steady growth due to its skilled workforce.
"The commonwealth’s health care services industry has seen consistent growth in recent years, and that is a testament to our skilled, diverse workforce," stated Gov. Beshear. "This ribbon cutting is an exciting next step for Zoetis and Kentucky. I want to thank company leaders for their commitment to Louisville and look forward to their continued success."
The 32,000-square-foot facility aims to meet rising demand for diagnostics and enhance animal care. It will provide comprehensive diagnostic testing from one central location, allowing Zoetis to serve more clinics efficiently. Located adjacent to UPS Worldport, the lab benefits from rapid specimen processing and delivery capabilities.
"Our new Louisville lab is a state-of-the-art facility enabling faster, more accessible diagnostics results for our customers," said Jamie Brannan, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Zoetis. "Thank you to our dedicated colleagues who advance care for animals each day, as well as our partners and local leaders who helped make this new reference lab possible."
Zoetis Reference Laboratories offers extensive clinical testing services globally. The company has integrated several leading reference lab providers into its network since 2019, with Louisville becoming a key hub.
UPS Healthcare Labport supports the healthcare sector by providing swift processing of laboratory specimens across the U.S., leveraging UPS's logistics network.
"We’re thrilled to welcome Zoetis Diagnostics to Louisville," commented Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg. "Thanks to the presence of UPS Worldport and Labport, Louisville continues to be at the forefront of growth and innovation in this field."
