Starting today, Apple Maps users in the U.S. will have access to rankings and insights from expert sources for restaurants, hotels, and golf courses. This new feature allows users to search for MICHELIN-starred, Green Star, and Bib Gourmand restaurants as well as MICHELIN Key hotels. Apple plans to expand this service to additional regions in the future.
Place cards within the app will now display distinctions, descriptions, and images from these expert sources. Users can also book select hotels directly through Maps, with upcoming options for restaurant reservations via MICHELIN and tee times through Supreme Golf.
David Dorn, Apple's senior director of Internet Software and Services Product, stated: “MICHELIN Guide, The Infatuation, and Golf Digest are leading industry experts that consumers rely on for finding the best restaurants, hotels, and golf courses." He added that these integrations enhance Maps as a resource for discovering new places both locally and while traveling.
Gwendal Poullennec of MICHELIN Guide expressed satisfaction with the collaboration: “The integration of MICHELIN Guide’s ratings... into Apple Maps will significantly enhance global access to exceptional gastronomy and hospitality experiences.” Paul Needham of The Infatuation highlighted their shared commitment with Apple to high-quality content: “We are thrilled to soon bring our authentic... recommendations to Apple Maps.”
Meredith Bausback from Golf Digest noted: "This integration will soon empower golfers to discover and choose courses with the confidence that comes from decades of expert evaluation."
Users can explore these features by using search filters in Maps or by viewing curated guides from the included expert sources.
