Allstate's Chief Claims Officer, Mike Fiato, testified before the U.S. Senate to discuss the company's efforts in assisting customers with recovery from unexpected losses. Fiato emphasized Allstate's proactive claims response and commitment to aiding customers in rebuilding after severe weather events.

Fiato stated, "Allstate’s team of 23,000 claims professionals serve 8.4 million customer claims each year. In 2024, the company provided over $37 billion to customers, including $4.6 billion tied to 132 catastrophes." He further mentioned that Allstate mobilizes resources following disasters to offer shelter, clothing, and financial assistance to help customers rebuild their lives. Customers affected by January's California wildfires received $945 million from Allstate.

Allstate protects one in ten American households by offering affordable and connected insurance options for valuable assets. Over the past five years, the company has paid more than $20 billion to aid in rebuilding efforts following severe weather incidents.

Neil Alldredge, President and CEO of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, commented on the role of insurers: "American insurers put customers first every day, providing guidance and timely payments when they’re needed most." He praised the swift response to recent events like California wildfires and Hurricanes Helene and Milton as examples of carriers' dedication to rapid recovery efforts.
