OhioHealth is lending its support to The Salvation Army's Pack-a-Sack initiative, a program aimed at reducing food insecurity in the Marion community. So far, nearly 2,400 individuals have benefited from two events held under this initiative.

The events, organized by The Salvation Army and with the backing of OhioHealth, distribute essential food items to those in need. After holding two events in February and March, a third is set for April 11.

“It’s great to see the power of collaboration,” said Jim Parobek, president of OhioHealth Marion General Hospital. “By partnering with The Salvation Army for the Pack-a-Sack initiative, we are helping to address food insecurity and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.”

Details for those interested in participating in the upcoming event are as follows:

Date and time: April 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM (volunteers are asked to arrive by 9:30 AM).

Location: 317 W. Church Street in Marion.

Participants are required to call ahead of time at 740-382-2156.
