IBM has completed the acquisition of Hakkoda Inc., a prominent player in data and AI consultancy, enhancing its portfolio of data transformation services. This move aims to strengthen IBM Consulting, equipping it with Hakkoda's seasoned expertise in data platform management. The acquisition seeks to ready client data for effective AI integration in business operations.

Hakkoda stands out for its proficiency in managing data estates, having a recognized partnership with Snowflake. The incorporation of Hakkoda will enable IBM to address the increasing demand for data services, focusing on creating versatile enterprise data estates optimized for various business applications.

In addition to its data modernization prowess, Hakkoda's collection of generative AI-powered assets is set to expedite such projects. Their industry-specific solutions align with areas like financial services, public sector, and healthcare, enhancing IBM's consultancy capabilities through its IBM Consulting Advantage platform.

"IBM is at the leading edge of the consulting industry with how we're supercharging our consultants with AI," stated Mohamad Ali, IBM Consulting's Senior Vice President and Head. Ali emphasized that Hakkoda's data-centric approach and technological ties position IBM to deliver rapid value to clients undertaking AI transformations.

Hakkoda's CEO and Co-founder, Erik Duffield, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, commenting on their commitment to influencing significant historic transformations. "It is because of this that we are excited to join IBM at this critical moment when organizations are looking for a trusted partner to help them modernize their data for the AI era."

The International Data Corporation forecasts enterprise intelligence services spending to reach $169 billion, climbing to over $243 billion by 2028. This growth underscores the necessity for strategic data migration and modern, cloud-based data platforms.

Hakkoda's credentials include being an Elite Snowflake partner, with numerous SnowPro certifications, and accolades such as 2024 Snowflake Healthcare & Life Sciences Services Partner of the Year. Their client reach extends internationally across several continents.
