OhioHealth Doctors Hospital recently hosted a dedication ceremony to honor the donation of a Cuddle Cot by the Harbour Knoxx Peabody Foundation. The foundation was established by Michael and Elizabeth Peabody, inspired by their personal experience with pregnancy and infant loss following the stillbirth of their son, Harbour Knoxx Peabody, on December 6, 2022.
Elizabeth Peabody shared that during their time at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, they received a Forget-Me-Knot Basket from a nurse. This bereavement care package included comforting items such as a stuffed elephant, jewelry, a grief journal, self-care products, and bereavement resources. "This basket became an essential part of our healing process," she said.
Motivated by the support they received during their difficult time, the Peabodys founded The Harbour Knoxx Peabody Foundation in November 2023. Their mission is to provide resources and support to families experiencing similar losses. They began creating Harbour’s Hope Boxes to offer solace and support to grieving families.
The foundation collaborated with Ashlie’s Embrace to fundraise for the Cuddle Cot donated to Doctors Hospital. It is the first hospital they have assisted in this manner. Additionally, Michael and Elizabeth partnered with Miles Mission to provide copies of Dr. Michael Bullock’s book "Even Though I Know: A Journey from Grief to Gratitude" and handmade baby blankets for inclusion in Harbour’s Hope Boxes.
Through these efforts, the Harbour Knoxx Peabody Foundation continues its commitment to offering families compassion and support as they navigate pregnancy and infant loss.
