Uber and Delta Air Lines have announced a new partnership set to launch this spring. Uber will become Delta's exclusive rideshare and delivery partner in the United States. This collaboration will allow Uber customers to earn Delta SkyMiles when they use Uber services, including rides and food deliveries.
The initiative is part of Uber's ongoing efforts to enhance airport travel experiences. Recently, Uber introduced several features such as Uber Shuttle for LaGuardia Airport, UberXXL for extra luggage space, Flight Capture for timely airport arrivals, and UberX Share at Airports for cost savings.
Once accounts are linked, SkyMiles Members can earn miles in various ways: "1 mile per dollar spent on $40+ restaurant and grocery orders" through Uber Eats; "1 mile per dollar spent on UberX rides to and from airports"; "2 miles per dollar spent on premium rides such as Uber Comfort and Uber Black"; and "3 miles per dollar spent on Uber Reserve trips."
Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "Delta is thrilled to come together with Uber to create a connected travel experience from start to finish. This partnership creates more choice for customers to get to their destination in a way that works best for them."
Customers are encouraged to join the waitlist to be notified when account linking becomes available.
