On December 10, Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) hosted the inaugural AI Small Business Summit at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. This event marked the official launch of SBA's AI for Small Businesses Resource Hub, aimed at helping small business owners understand and utilize artificial intelligence.
The summit was organized in collaboration with Georgia Tech and featured participation from major technology companies such as Microsoft, Google, Intuit Mailchimp, and OpenAI. The event provided a platform for discussions on integrating AI into small business operations.
"Artificial intelligence has the capacity to drive exponential growth for the United States economy and for small businesses across the country," stated Administrator Guzman. "From Main Street shops to manufacturers, staying up to date with the latest technology is essential for business growth and resilience."
The Biden-Harris Administration reports over 20 million new business applications nationwide since taking office, including more than one million in Georgia. The SBA has also released data showing increased lending to underserved communities and a rise in small dollar loans under $150,000.
