The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. has announced the appointment of Melissa Goldman as Partner and Global Head of Technology Engineering for Global Banking & Markets (GBM). In her new role, she will collaborate with teams across GBM and Core Engineering to advance the firm's engineering strategy. Her responsibilities include delivering market-leading solutions for clients and ensuring internal engineering solutions meet high standards in risk management.
Melissa is based in New York and returns to Goldman Sachs from Google, where she served as a vice president and global head of corporate engineering. At Google, she managed technologies and systems supporting the company's global enterprise. Her previous experience includes eight years at JPMorgan Chase as chief information officer for corporate technology and chief data officer.
Goldman began her career at Goldman Sachs in 1994 as an analyst. During her 20-year tenure at the firm, she held various leadership roles focused on managing technology teams across multiple risk disciplines such as market, credit, liquidity risk, controllers, and collateral management. She was promoted to Managing Director in 2008.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Math and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
