According to a news release by Amazon, the Nova lineup includes Nova Micro for text processing, Nova Lite for multimodal tasks, and Nova Pro for a balance of speed, accuracy, and cost. Additionally, Amazon plans to introduce Amazon Nova Premier in early 2025 for complex reasoning tasks. The suite also features Canvas and Reel for creative content generation. These models are intended to be accessible to businesses and include integrated safety measures along with AWS AI Service Cards to ensure transparent use cases and responsible AI practices.

Prasad further explained that the models aim to provide compelling intelligence and content generation while delivering progress on latency, cost-effectiveness, customization, information grounding, and agentic capabilities.
