Northern Kentucky University's men's and women's cross country teams concluded their season at the Horizon League Cross Country Championships held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The men's team secured a fifth-place finish, while the women's team ended in eighth place.
In the men's competition, Natnael Weldemichael stood out by finishing second with a time of 24:20.5. He was followed by Colton O'Hara, who placed tenth with a time of 24:41.7. Other notable performances included Stetson Childress in 30th place with a time of 25:54.7, Samsun Weldemichael in 56th place at 26:27.3, and Nathan Ruth rounding out the top five for Northern Kentucky men with a time of 26:33.3.
The men's team achieved an overall score of 150 points across the 8K course, placing them fifth among ten teams. Youngstown State claimed the title on the men's side with five runners finishing within the top eight positions.
For the women, Brittany Arnold led Northern Kentucky with a 32nd-place finish and a time of 23:21.7 in the 6000-meter race. Julia Verhoff followed closely behind in 43rd place at 23:36.9. Carlie Condit finished in 50th place with a time of 23:47.0, while Lauren Mang and Macie Radcliffe secured places at 55th and 56th respectively.
The women's team finished eighth overall with a total score of 227 points, tying with Green Bay but ranking higher based on tiebreakers. Robert Morris emerged victorious among the women's teams with just 67 points.
