James P. Gorman, Executive Chairman of Morgan Stanley | Columbia Business School

Morgan Stanley has announced its receipt of two awards from the Money Management Institute (MMI) and Barron's for 2024. The company received the Wealth Manager Platform of The Year Award for its Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Select UMA Platform and a Distribution Excellence award for its Field Engagement Initiative.

Jed Finn, Head of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, commented on the recognition: "These awards demonstrate our dedication to continuously enhancing the experience for clients and Financial Advisors, and leveraging technology to deliver innovative solutions at scale."

The Wealth Manager Platform of the Year Award recognizes platforms that show innovation in delivering better outcomes for investors and financial advisors. The MSWM Select UMA Platform is designed to simplify investment processes while providing comprehensive asset management, offering tailored asset allocation advice based on client goals and risk tolerance.

The Distribution Excellence category acknowledges firms that provide outstanding advisor sales support both in-field and from home offices. Morgan Stanley's Field Engagement Initiative aims to improve financial advisors' practices by equipping them with resources to enhance their client relationships.

The annual MMI/Barron’s Industry Awards honor innovation and leadership in investment advisory solutions, celebrating firms that have delivered superior solutions for financial advisors and investors.

The winners were chosen by an MMI Industry Awards Steering Council composed of representatives from all segments of MMI membership. After reviewing nominations submitted between June 2024 and July 2024, finalists were selected, with voting concluding in August 2024. It is noted that MMI/Barron’s does not receive compensation from participating firms in exchange for awards, nor did Morgan Stanley pay a fee for receiving these honors.

Established in 1997, MMI represents financial services firms offering advice and investment solutions. Barron's has been published by Dow Jones since 1921, serving as a leading financial publication known for market-moving stories.
