Covington, Ky. - The City of Covington has announced the official trick-or-treat hours for Halloween. Residents can expect the event to take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 31st.

City officials emphasize the importance of safety during this time and have shared several tips to ensure a safe experience for children. These include being cautious when crossing streets, having adults accompany young children, and ensuring older children travel in groups. Participants are encouraged to stop only at houses with their outside lights on and decorate costumes with reflective tape or stickers for visibility.

The city advises against masks that obstruct vision, suggesting face paint or makeup as alternatives. Additionally, children should carry glow sticks or flashlights to enhance visibility for both themselves and drivers. Costumes should be designed to prevent tripping hazards.

Drivers are reminded to slow down and remain alert during trick-or-treat hours.

In addition to Halloween night activities, Covington Parks & Recreation will host community events leading up to the holiday. Tonight marks the second evening of Pumpkin Carving Nights from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., held at the David Housley Pavilion in Randolph Park, where pumpkins and tools will be available.

On Saturday, the annual Jack-O-Lantern Festival will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., also at Randolph Park. Further details about these events can be found through local resources.
