SALEM, Ore. - On Tuesday, August 27, Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the voice in President Biden’s Cabinet for America’s more than 34 million small businesses, will travel to Oregon as part of the Investing in America Tour.
Administrator Guzman will begin her day in Dallas at a local sheet metal manufacturer alongside U.S. Congresswoman Andrea Salinas. The Administrator and Congresswoman will tour the facility and meet with the business owner before departing to Salem, where they will visit a Latino-owned, SBA-funded creamery that has been producing Mexican cheeses since the 1990s. In the afternoon, Administrator Guzman and Congresswoman Salinas will tour a third small business that sustainably crafts, sells, and donates artisan blankets. Following this business visit, both leaders will be briefly available to members of the media for on-site interviews.
Throughout the day, Administrator Guzman will highlight how the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments in America have powered a once-in-a-generation Small Business Boom. Under this administration, there have been more than 187,000 new business applications filed in Oregon – an all-time record for any presidential administration.
The business visits are open to members of the media who RSVP to theodora.lake@sba.gov. There will be a brief media availability following the third business visit.
